Nancy says her vision board keeps her goals constantly in her mind. "It's kind of a visual and verbal articulation of my goals," she says. "I can remind myself, 'You need to take actions if you want these goals to show up.' It's not a magic trick, really. It's about you being the person who's motivated to make that stuff show up."
Louise says a vision board can be a very effective tool. "It helps you to focus your thinking on what you want," she says. "When you do that, it's like the universe gives you ideas [on how to get it]." Martha says she sees two reasons the vision board works. One is something called "selective attention." "If you repeat the word, 'blue, blue, blue,' and you start looking around the room, all the blue things will start popping out," she says. "Part of it is quantum physics. … We know now, scientifically, that consciousness brings matter into being where there was energy. So it's not even necessarily that it draws it toward you. The conclusion is you're literally creating some of this stuff." Cheryl says the vision board's power also comes from the simple fact that it allows people time to focus and do something about their lives. "People say to me, 'Oh, I don't know about this law of attraction. I don't know if it really works.' I say to them, 'So, what have you done lately to test it?' 'Oh, well, I think about what I want,'" she says. "That's not good enough. You need to take specific action—make a list, do a vision board, start speaking what it is you want."

I also made a list of qualities I want my boyfriend/future husband to have. That was back in 1997 (or 1998) after watching Iyanla Vanzant on the Oprah Show. I was 16 or 17 at that time. A list contained qualities such as interest in music, a desire for spiritual growth and being happy in his life just the way it is (ie: he doesn't need a girlfriend to be or make him happy), similar values ... I finally met him in 2002 and he was exactly what I wrote on the list (and more!). We pulled the long distance relationship through (more than 11 000 km) and we got married in 2007. :)

"The Secret" has, and is currently changing my life. I read a couple passages out the book while riding the car with my bestfriend, and was hooked! I just recieved my copy, and I haven't put it down since. I can honestly say before reading this book, I had no honor or passion in the universe, but that has changed. It is teaching me (as I read more and more) to "think more resourcefully". I am so happy I am reading this book!

There is a book I urge everyone to read called "THE GAME OF LIFE AND HO TO PLAY IT" by FLORENCE SCOVEL-SHINN, find it free online!! It is truly the precursor to The Secret and even A New Earth (as E.T. almost directly quotes her!) This book has changed my life and everyone who I have ever given it to - it teaches you how to ohave unwavering faith and to believe in the blessing in store for you. You can try to stay positive thinking and have faith - but she teaches you HOW to do it unfailingly.

I think alot of people misconception was if they think it, it would come in their direction. Regardless, to what they need or what their asking for. I see it as keeping that trust and faith in the Lord above , and everything will work out .

I read The Secret with great expectations--not much happened. You're talking about going beyond
the Secret. I've yet to be At The Secret. I am happy to hear the stories from those who have had great sucess with it but I still simply just do not get it. Maybe I am making it too complex. Anyway, it is no longer A Secret and I have taken a rest from The Secret--I'm exhaling and I don't experience the disappointments because I don't have the expectations. So, in this way, my life is better. Oh! maybe it is working.

I read you can heal your life when it first came out, only to have to revisit it again recently. I've been applying the secret to no no avail. I do'nt know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm still not getting what I need or want. What am I doing wrong?

I purchased a home seven years ago, a fixer upper and I don't have the money to fix it up, I do a little hear and a little there I take chances and enter sweepstakes but I never qualify. I watch HomeCrashers and I say why stuff like this does not happen to people like me. a little discouraged because I am a good person I help anyone who needs it and yet I never get that break.

The Secret is to get off the criticism and do something rooted in love and compassion for yourself and others toCHANGE yourself without saying or extrapolating from what others are not doing what you think is not right! THAT IS THE SECRET! Stop the finger pointing, the blame and mantras of "I Can't"... we are all walking around with the gist of time and energy- how do you use it? Complaining? Complining on internet sites like this-- yeah- Life is not fair- yeah-- there are rich screwing the poor- yeah- but what are you doing with the marvelous gift of you?
